Annual ISO 900:2015 Conformity Assessment

Annual ISO 9001 Conformity Assessment. Version 2015
Apr 28

Every year, Archer Software improves our processes to conform with changes to the ISO standards. This year, we verified compliance with the new 2015 standards. Please see our page in a new ISO 9001:2015 suppliers database here.

ISO standards are reviewed every five years and revised if needed. This helps ensure they remain relevant in the marketplace. The challenges faced by businesses and organizations today are very different from just a few decades ago and ISO 9001 has been updated to take this new environment into account.

The most noticeable change to the standard is its new structure. ISO 9001:2015 now follows the same overall structure as the other ISO management system standards (known as the High-Level Structure), making it easier for those using multiple management systems. More information can be found in Annex SL of ISO/IEC Directives Part 1 (the rules for developing ISO standards).

Another major difference is the focus on risk-based thinking. While this has always been part of the standard, the new version gives it increased prominence.

The new version of the standard brings the user a number of benefits.

For example, ISO 9001:2015 :

  • Puts greater emphasis on leadership engagement

  • Helps address organizational risks and opportunities in a structured manner

  • Uses simplified language, a common structure and terms, which are particularly helpful to organizations using multiple management systems, such as those for the environment, health & safety or business continuity

  • Addresses supply chain management more ectively

  • Is more user-friendly for service and knowledge-based organizations

The certifying body conducted an audit of Archer Software, and reported that we are the first IT organization to obtain this new ISO 9001:2015 certificate.

The inspecting body did not recommend any corrective actions be undertaken and extended the certificate for another year, demonstrating that our company’s Quality Management System is not just words, but a fully-fledged, operating team.
